EICRs & Fixed Wire Testing

Electrical Installation Condition Reports (EICR) is essential for homes and businesses in order to ensure a safe electrical infrastructure in a property. Among our wide range of electrical and M&E services, AC Gold is fully qualified to carry out the required fixed wire testing needed to issue an EICR certification.

Our end-to-end service will amend any unsafe installations to ensure safety and to provide you with your EICR certification.

You should keep on top of EICR certification with testing carried out every 5-10 years depending on whether your property falls under the domestic or commercial sector.

PAT testing services

PAT Service

(Portable Appliance Testing Service)

We are specialists in Portable Appliance Testing (PAT) and provide a professional, efficient and reliable PAT testing service designed to cause minimal disruption to the daily activities of our clients, their tenants, staff or building occupants.

We provide managed and unscheduled Portable Appliance Testing (PAT Testing) services for a range of customers from large commercial offices, through to housing associations, letting agents and private landlords who want to make sure their rental housing stock is compliant with electrical regulations.

Unlike the Fixed Wire Testing of the EICR, the PAT test covers only movable electrical equipment that the landlord or building owner has provided as part of the tenancy (refrigerators, toasters, televisions, etc.).

During the Portable Appliance Test AC Gold Electrical Services will carry out minor remedial works such as changing incorrect sized fuses and remake or replace damaged plug-tops – therefore enabling us to pass appliances which would otherwise unnecessarily fail.  Any appliance that fails to pass the electrical safety inspection or PAT test must be replaced or repaired immediately.

EPC Testing

EPCs

An Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) provides information on a property’s energy efficiency and environmental impact, along with recommendations for upgrades which will help improve the building’s energy performance rating. EPC’s have been introduced as part of a European directive to help improve the energy efficiency of properties and the environmental impact that the energy used to heat, light and power properties have. AC Gold Energy can carry EPC surveys for you to help ensure your property is as efficient as possible.

The EPC certificate will tell you the building’s:

  • Energy Efficiency rating on a scale of A-G (A being the most efficient, G the least efficient).
  • Environmental Impact CO2
  • Estimated energy use, CO2 emissions and fuel costs.

It will also provide a summary of your building’s energy performance related features, and recommendations for improvements which your home’s energy performance.

asbestos management

Asbestos Management

Asbestos management is a legal requirement for owners of commercial premises under the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012.  As tradespeople working within the fabric of buildings on a daily business, our team is very aware of the Health and Safety risk that Asbestos can pose.  At AC Gold Electrical Services our entire workforce is continually trained in Asbestos awareness and AC Gold Asbestos procedures.

Our Asbestos training teaches our staff to safely recognise the presence of asbestos in any properties that they work in while carrying out electrical inspections or installation work.  We carry out regular asbestos awareness refreshment training courses for our electricians, and it is a requirement for our new electrical apprentices.

Our Health and Safety operatives can help you to carry out an asbestos risk assessment and produce an asbestos management plan including deciding any actions that may be required.
